Building Expertise to Strengthen Access Organizations
Investing Directly
in the People
Closest to Students
HALI's Training and Mentorship program invests directly in the organization leaders delivering access programs on the ground. Through an annual virtual training series and a structured mentorship program, we build the skills, knowledge, and peer relationships that enable access organizations to support HALI students more effectively and grow their impact.

Two Ways We Build Capacity

Annual Training Series
Each year, our Training and Mentorship Committee delivers a virtual series covering topics across the full spectrum of access work. Sessions range from building effective college counseling curricula for growing organizations to navigating the critical issues shaping international admissions. Training is led by experienced member representatives, with guest specialists brought in for topics outside the network's core expertise.

Mentorship Program
New and growing member organizations are paired with experienced HALI members for a structured one-year mentorship. Each pair identifies priority growth areas and meets regularly throughout the year to share resources and knowledge. New members gain immediate access to proven strategies, established university relationships, and a community of practitioners who have already navigated the challenges ahead.
