About UWC East Africa
Established in 1969 as International School Moshi, UWC East Africa was the first school in Africa to offer the International Baccalaureate and joined the global UWC movement in 2019 as its 18th member school and second in Africa. With campuses in Moshi (Kilimanjaro) and Arusha, the school serves approximately 660 students aged 3–19 from over 100 nationalities, including more than 300 residential students. UWC East Africa offers the IB Primary Years, Middle Years, and Diploma programmes to both local and international students, combining academic excellence with a structured residential programme and a strong emphasis on international-mindedness, diversity, and community engagement.
