About Our Moon Education
Our Moon Education is based in Zambia. We unleash the potential in high achieving, low income young people so that, through education opportunities and personal guidance, they can contribute to positive social change within their country and on the continent. Our flagship Young Leaders programme is an eighteen month full-time course run from our residential site in rural Zambia. It prepares students to realise their potential to instigate change. We focus on developing their written and oral communication skills, critical thinking and problem solving. They volunteer within our community and produce a research essay mentored and marked by external teachers. We guide their university choices applications and prepare them for SATs. For the last six months of the programme, they undertake internships at international and Zambian based organisations and NGOs where they develop their employability skills, networks and experience of professional organisations doing meaningful work in Zambia. To reach a wider group of young people, we also have SuperSpace Leaders programme where, through volunteering and improving their communication skills, we prepare them to return to their communities with a project to aid change. 100% of our Young Leaders go onto top universities around the world, with 92% studying STEM subjects.
