Open Dreams is a College/University preparation non-profit that provides educational opportunities to low-income, high-achieving high school students and university graduates from developing countries. We believe that education is the key to unlocking everyone’s potential. But unfortunately many children in countries across Africa and other parts of the developing world do not have access to a good education that their peers in the developed world do.

In order to bridge this educational and achievement gap, Open Dreams carefully selects high school students and university graduates who have the potential to become Africa’s future leaders and provides them with the platform necessary to apply to universities abroad or empowers them to study more purposely in Cameroon with the mindset to be change drivers in the community. Students are selected based on their leadership potential, entrepreneurial spirit, academic achievement and commitment to community service. Through our Open Dreams Center in Bamenda and Yaounde, Cameroon, we provide access to resources including Internet, Computers, SAT/TOEFL/GRE/IELTS preparatory materials and tutoring that introduce Western-style (international) education to our mentees.

Our support also includes a mentorship and volunteering placement program which broadens the social and professional perspectives of our students, giving them a chance to hone their leadership skills by engaging in community service. Besides Bamenda and Yaounde, Open Dreams hubs exist in Bafoussam, Buea, Douala and the Northern Region of Cameroon. Through these grass root hubs, we are able to find and nurture talent for global opportunities.
