The 2025 HALI Indaba

We are happy to share that the 2025 HALI Indaba will be held in Kenya from September 7 to September 11 at Sawela Lodges in Naivasha.

The Indaba brings together HALI member organizations, university partners, and other stakeholders who are committed to creating opportunities for talented students from underserved backgrounds across Africa. It’s a space to reflect on our shared work, learn from each other, and deepen the relationships that hold this community together.

Did you know we are hosting a university tour in Kenya just before the HALI Indaba?

If you are planning to recruit in Africa this September, this is a great way to meet talented students and counselors, and then stay on for the Indaba to connect with the wider HALI community.

We are inviting university reps to join our 2025 tour across three Kenyan cities: Nairobi, Mombasa, and Nakuru. You will visit top-performing schools, including those that don’t often get direct access to international admissions officers. The tour includes school visits, college fairs in each city, and a counselor reception.

  • Arrival in Nairobi: September 2

  • Tour dates: September 3–6

  • Departure to the Indaba: September 7

  • Cost per university: $5,000 (includes hotels and all in-country transport)
